Naveen Patnaik (born 16 October 1946) is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Odisha, a state in eastern India. He is the founder and president of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), a regional political party in Odisha. Patnaik has been serving as the Chief Minister since 2000, making him one of the longest-serving Chief Ministers in the country.
Born into a prominent political family, Naveen Patnaik entered politics after the death of his father, Biju Patnaik, a former Chief Minister of Odisha.
